Talking Interoperability is a dialogue series convened by the Digital Convergence Initiative (DCI) to facilitate in-depth technical discussions on designing interoperability in the social protection sector. By bringing together digital social protection and technology experts from government agencies, software vendors, system integrators and international organizations, the series promotes peer-based learning and problem solving through the sharing of technical experiences, the examination of key interoperability challenges, and the identification of potential solutions to remaining bottlenecks.

As Rwanda advances its digital transformation efforts, interoperability has become a key enabler for delivering efficient and inclusive social protection services. This session focused on Rwanda’s Social Registry as a foundational tool to enhance data-driven decision-making and improve coordination across government institutions, highlighting its role in streamlining beneficiary identification, reducing duplication and ensuring targeted support for vulnerable populations. It also explored challenges and solutions related to data governance, system integration and cross-sector collaboration, while providing insights into ongoing initiatives aligned with Rwanda’s NST2 priorities and broader digitalization strategies.

This was the eighteenth webinar of the “Talking interoperability” dialogue series organised by the Digital Convergence Initiative (DCI). These meetings aim to facilitate in-depth technical conversations around designing for interoperability in the social protection sector. By bringing together digital social protection and technology experts from government agencies, software vendors, system integrators, and international organisations, they aim to promote peer-based learning and problem solving.
