Systems change: key lessons from STAAR

Webinar

Date: 18 December 2025

Organisers: Social Protection Technical Assistance, Advice, and Resources Facility, STAAR

This webinar marked the close of the STAAR Facility by bringing together the voices and experiences of our national consultants. As the Facility comes to an end, the session reflected on the changes our work has contributed to, the challenges we’ve navigated, and the lessons learned through our national engagements and consider what these mean for the future of social protection system strengthening.

The webinar explored how flexible, short-term technical assistance has supported governments across different areas, including gender equality and inclusion, conflict and fragility, and climate resilience, as well as programme operations, delivery systems, data, financing and policy design. It highlighted not only the technical insights generated through this work, but also the practical realities of delivering support in complex contexts.
