News of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) 90-day funding freeze and subsequent demise has sent ripples around the world, with more question marks than answers at this stage. But among the confusion, there are some very visible implications that will be extremely relevant to the social protection sector. This webinar had an open format, to first set out the main channels of impacts (based on updates to early reflections shared in this blog) and then jointly discussed what this could and should mean going forwards for the sector and others aiming to pursue similar ‘collective outcomes’ (e.g. humanitarian action).

Kindly note that the views expressed and information shared during this session solely belong to the speakers. Thus, speakers bear full responsibility for the content presented, and any opinions expressed do not necessarily reflect those of any affiliated institutions or organisations.

Speakers:

  • Valentina was joined by a range of colleagues with humanitarian and social protection background, including Anna McCord, Carla Lacerda and several others that are being confirmed. However, because the session format is an open discussion (not a traditional webinar), the expertise and reflections from everyone in the room will be valued.
