Opportunities and challenges for integrating nutrition into social protection programmes

Webinar

Date:  4 September, 2025

Organisers: DAI Global UK

This webinar was convened and moderated by the Nutrition Action for Systemic Change (NASC) Technical Assistance Facility, managed by DAI Global UK and funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). Building on the momentum of the 2025 Nutrition for Growth (N4G) Summit and the launch of the Global Compact for Nutrition Integration, it brought together an expert panel to examine opportunities and common challenges in integrating nutrition into social protection programmes.

The session opened with an overview of social protection–related commitments made at the N4G Summit and the strategic relevance of the Global Compact for Nutrition Integration. It also introduced publicly available guidance on nutrition integration developed under the FCDO-funded NASC Facility. This was followed by a panel discussion exploring practical experiences, key barriers, and emerging opportunities, and concluded with a summary of key takeaways.

Designed to be interactive, the webinar encouraged participants to share experiences and engage directly with the expert panel. It offered policymakers, advisors, and practitioners practical insights and actionable steps to strengthen social protection systems through improved nutrition integration, particularly supporting those involved in programme design and implementation.
