The department for humanitarian aid and civil protection, DG ECHO
The DG ECHO-led webinar focused on ECHO’s new cash thematic policy and its role in connecting with social protection systems. It covered policy content related to linking cash and social protection, followed by an interactive panel discussion. The panel explored the humanitarian donor’s role in various contexts, including conflict/complex settings, conflict in strong institutional settings, natural hazards in refugee settings, and natural hazards in contexts with weak institutions. The discussion revolved around two key questions: how humanitarian donors can ensure needs are met during acute crises and how to prepare for future crises.
