Although social protection is not a new topic in the global agenda, there has been a steady growth in interest and actors involved over the last decades, clearing pathways to new models for delivering programmes and policies tailored to local contexts (i.e. payment tools, MIS). This webinar showcased the latest innovations and technologies related to social protection and discussed how old practices were adapted to achieve more effective results.
In the context of current drive for universal social protection, panellists addressed issues related to the impact of digital solutions in social protection programmes, from design to implementation. The focus was on key trends on the use of technology across the delivery chain (information systems, payment systems, digital approaches to grievances and complaint mechanisms, linkage to digital ID, etc.). The webinar also addressed the risks related to these developments.
