Social Protection in South Asia

In 2019 the IPC-IG, UNICEF Regional Office for South Asia (ROSA), and Country Offices worked together to undertake a comparative overview and analysis of important dimensions to assess social protection systems in South Asia. Given the COVID-19 crisis and the many responses created to mitigate its impacts, the presentation of pre-COVID analysis will benefit from an additional agenda: snapshots on how the pre-COVID-19 social protection landscape is being modified by the ongoing crisis, what responses are being planned, and what are the prospects for the ‘new normal’ of social protection setups going forward.
